We started with decorating our fireplace and barbeque showroom at Mainline heating and Plumbing. When customers inquired about purchasing the product, we decided to go to a buying show to see what other wonderful products were out there that would compliment the basics of Mainline’s showroom.
This is how the Yellow Door was created.

Hello, I’m Valerie, the owner of Yellow Door Décor. I love living in our vibrant city of Prince George in the beautiful province of British Columbia!
Born and raised in Cambridge Ontario Valerie has always challenged herself with a wide diversity of work experiences. She engaged in various jobs developing the ability to listen to instructions and follow precisely, communicate clearly and work with others to get the work done. She also found herself in the aesthetics field for a while, continuing her growth in communication with clients and listening to their needs to provide personal high quality services.
One of her biggest challenges was working as a heavy equipment technician/operator. This took the essentials of team work to get difficult and challenging projects done safely, precisely and on time. In 2006 Val along with her husband Brian moved to Prince George and joined Mainline Plumbing and later purchased into the company they now both own.
Val discovered her natural talent in sales, where she worked in advertising sales for 10 years. Valerie has always had a flair for design and shopping for unique items for her home. Her experiences renovating homes with her husband Brian has strengthened her talents of design layout, colours and styles to fit the homes and families’ character. Their current project includes renovating a log home and a guest house. She knows what she likes and how her family functions in a home. This is when she decided to leave her position in marketing and dedicate her time to developing the Yellow Door Decor… Her passion and creativity are expressed throughout the store and she loves spending time with her clients.

Lilly is a vivacious young lady with a creative mind. Her love and passion started for fashion and decor at a young age. She always loved rearranging her room and adding her own flair wherever she could, and always wanted to see what was new and on trend.
After high school, Lilly started off helping out at the store part time while working two other jobs. Two years ago Lilly realized she wanted to go to school for Interior Design.
She started getting her foot into the business world by going to school for Business and Management and moving onto Interior Design School and following her passion.
